So, I suppose you have seen the movie "White Noise II". I know I have, and that's what took me to this place. According to the movie, third day, or three day = Tria mera translated to numbers from the greek alphabet and then adding all the numbers would give you the number "666". I have tested it, and this is my result:

Tria mera written in greek alphabet would be "τρία μέρα" according to http://www.kypros.org/cgi-bin/lexicon.
I then used this converter: http://www.russellcottrell.com/greek/utilities/GreekNumberConverter.htm

I can assume the movie is wrong. The third letter in "τρία" would converted into numbers be 1000.

So, on my second try I got a bit further.  "τρία μέρα" would be 557 converted into numbers.

Aah, uppercase has other values? I'm not that good at greek  Wink

But, I think it's kind of interesting. There is only one problem with it. The real number isn't 666, it is 616. I don't know when the missunderstanding has taken place, but sometime, somewhere, somehow 616 became 666.

abtin:

Tria mera is greek and means three day. Every greek letter in the greek alphabet has a corresponding number. If you translate each letter of tria mera into numbers, and then add the numbers you get 666. Pretty simple, at least if you know greek, which I don't.
